Nintendo confirmed plans to establish it’s own internet network, Nintendo Network, in it’s upcoming and current consoles. The Nintendo Network will be available on the Wii U and the 3DS, and will work similar to Sony’s PSN and Microsoft’s XBL. The Nintendo Network will allow for multiple personalized accounts per console, downloadable games and content, and a streamlined online play system. That’s right! NO MORE FRIEND CODES!

While not an innovation to the industry as a whole, this is a HUGE step in the right direction for Nintendo! Wii U just got a whole lot sweeter!
