New Tomb Raider Trailer and Release Date

With E3 less then a week away video game news is already pouring out all over the internet. Including a new trailer for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. In case you hadn’t heard this game is going to be exploring the origins of Lara Croft, before she was the crazy dual pistol wielding adventurer we’ve known for the last 16 years.

So without anymore chat lets get to this trailer:

So what do you think? Not to bad right? I’m not a huge Tomb Raider fan myself, it’s been one of those series that when it’s good it’s great, but when it’s not man do they screw up. This new one looks like it’s going to be worth keeping an eye on though. The game looks much more realistic than previous installments, and I’m not talking graphics which are looking top notch. The gameplay and story, at least what we can gather from the trailer, just seems real. Lara isn’t running around shooting bad guys in the head like it’s just a normal day. She’s sneaking around, hurt, on her own. And when she does get in a fight she isn’t the self assured punch the guy in the face then shoot him. It’s a struggle and that’s not something you get in games to much. It seems like Crystal Dynamics is really trying to give us something new.

Unfortunately they also recently announced that the game is being delayed until next year. Luckily though we just got a release date! It’s now scheduled to hit stores March 5, 2013 so even though it’s next year at least it’s early!
