Guardians of Middle Earth

Lord of the Rings pops up again this year with Guardians of Middle Earth. It’s not your traditional Lord of the Rings game with button mashing and combos and such. Instead we have a Lord of the Rings/Defense of the Ancients(Dota) crossover. For those of you that don’t know: Dota is a strategy game bred from WarCraft III. There are 2 teams consisting of 5 heroes each, the players, and armies controlled by AI. The goal is to defeat your opponents armies to allow your army to pass into their territory and destroy their “ancient.” The game requires a lot of strategy to win, and has been developed into a number of spinoffs like League of Legends, and Monday Night Combat.

Lord of the Rings just seems like a perfect fit for this style of game. The trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, but it shows some pretty cools CG and mismatched voice acting. Check it out and tell us what you think in the comments below!
