Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix – PAX East Trailer

Debuting at this weekends PAX East convention in Boston is the first official US trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix.

It’s amazing how incredible a 10 year old game can look after a bit of a make over! We even get to see a bit of the game play at work as well, and it looks great since it’s been fine tuned to better fit the series.

My favorite take from the trailer is that the cutscenes also look to have been upconverted, which is generally not the case with HD remakes. If you take a look at God of War Collection, you’ll notice the pre-rendered cutscenes from God of War 1 and 2 generally look FAR worse than the actual gameplay. All this really means is that Square Enix isn’t just throwing out a cash cow here, they’ve invested in a real product.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix contains full HD makeovers of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. It also features an HD upconversion of all of the cutscenes, which have also been fully vocalized, from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. This combines the entirety of the beginning of Soras’ story in 1 beautiful package.
