Friday Five – Best Stories Ever

ythelastman

Welcome to the Friday Five! Each week we help you get to know our writers with the help of a top 5 list! This weeks category: Best Stories Ever

Gonna keep this short this time, stories are awesome we picked our favorites.

Chris

  1. Amazing Spider-Man Dying Wish / Superior Spider-Man – A lot of people hated Superior Spider-Man, I was no one of them. Well I hated it, but the kind of hate you love. Doc Ock was terrible, but awesome as Spider-Man and I actually miss it. But that story line was spectacular from beginning to end.
  2. Saga – Everyone else seemed to go with Y: The Last Man, which from what I hear was a great story. But I never read it, so I’m going to go with another BKV book, Saga. It’s still going and I hope it never ends. It’s just an incredible story.
  3. Toy Story – All three of these movies just create a fantastic story.
  4. Final Fantasy X – It may not be the best Final Fantasy ever, but the story had all the right bits and pieces to make it memorable and amazing
  5. Lost – People hate the ending to this show, those people are dumb. It closed out exactly how it should have and if you don’t think so you don’t like things the right way.

  1. The Last of Us – One of the best games of all time in my book. The Last of Us has excellent characterization, so much detail, and it’s so tense. You don’t just passively watch these characters grow over the course of the game, you are them. You grow with them. Every deep breath they take, you take. When they’re scared, you’re scared. It’s just incredible.
  2. Final Fantasy IX – Corruption, Dark Magic, a parallel world. FFIX had some of the coolest and kookiest characters around, but one of the most engaging stories in the series.
  3. Wolverine: Old Man Logan – One of my all time favorite comics. A fantastic depiction of an apocalyptic future, where Logan has to search deep for his inner strength. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.
  4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Over 11 years old and still one of the best stories in gaming. Awesome characters, a great plot, and a twist that M. Night Shyamalan envies.
  5. Y: The Last Man – Brian K. Vaughn is a master of his craft. His stories are insane, and Y: The Last Man is no exception. I’ve been praising this book for years, yet no one I know has read it. This really needs to change.

  1. Tale of Two Cities – The fact that this was a school required reading book, and I actually read it, says a lot.
  2. Wolverine – Enemy of the State – Wolverine is killed by the Gorgon’s stare an reanimated as an agent of Hydra to bring down S.H.I.E.L.D. from within.
  3. Old Man Logan – Ok, I like Wolverine books, but this was fantastic. Wolverine fighting Red Skull (who is wearing Captain America’s costume) and then puts on an Iron Man suit to fly from D.C. to California.
  4. Y: The Last Man – Oh, those feels. This was an amazing series and I loved reading it.
  5. Wolverine’s Revenge – Yes, I like Wolverine, get over it. Again, those feels. (prelude)Wolverine is sent to hell and fights his way out. (on to the actual plot) He finds the Cult who banished him to hell and fights mutant after mutant to get to them, only to find a horrible truth.
