Don’t forget – Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day!

Don’t forget, tomorrow is the 11th annual Free Comic Book Day. There are all kinds of cool books availible at your Local Comic Book Shop, including books about Superman, Thanos, The Walking Dead, Aphrodite IX, Damsels, Aspen, all kinds of choices gear toward the kiddies like Sonic, Spongebob, and Bongo, and my favorite, a Steampunk version Wizard of Oz. You can see the full comic list and find a participating shop on the Free Comic Book Day site.

Image Comics seems to love these cryptic teaser images, not quite as much as Marvel does, but that’s for another time.

Last week was a bit of a bust sorry about that, this week though we’re back with all kind of comic booky goodness! Spider-Man is saving things, and Nightwing is saving things, and the Justice League are. . . having dates. Yeah so maybe not as epic but still a lot of great books hit the stands this week so lets see how many are actually worth your dollars.

I don’t know how many of you have seen some of the recent cartoons that are out there. But there are some pretty terrible ones, not even close to the awesomeness of the cartoons from the ’80s and ’90s. Well there’s some good news, the new upcoming series Serusis from Big Dog Ink is going to harken back to those glories days in animated television adventures.

Comic fans love art books, any time you can have a collection of some of the greatest covers, sketches, and various other works from your favorite artist is awesome. And Zenescope is known for having some of the best cover artist working on their books, so one can only assume this is going to be a high quality book and well worth the money, especially since pre-ordering it through Amazon is going to save your a few dollars!

Tuesday Preview: Image Comics’ Witchblade – Day of the Outlaw

We missed out last week, getting ourselves sick at WrestleMania from the germs of 80000 people from all over the world, but we’re back with a vengeance this week. We’re big fans of genre swaps, so for this week’s Tuesday Preview we present the Witchblade: Day of The Outlaw one-shot from Image Comics. Sara Pezzini isn’t the first person to wield the Witchblade, there have been dozens of them throughout history. This one-shot focuses on Enola, a sheriff in the Old West. Sounds like a fun romp.
SHOWDOWN WITH THE WITCHBLADE OF THE WILD WEST!
In the days of the Wild West, before Sara Pezzini claimed her destiny, Witchblade bearer Sheriff Enola protected the high plains from the Darkness that lurked beyond the horizon. Although her townspeople lived in peace, they were always mistrusting of their sheriff-witch. With her town seeking to banish her and the Darkness angling for a duel, will the Witchblade be enough to save Enola from becoming a footnote in the annals of the blade’s history?

We’re back with another Take It Or Leave It, this week is a little light on full reviews, but there are a few extra Quick Shots at the bottom! This week we’ve got reviews on books like Action Comics, All-New X-Men, and the first part of a BIG event, Grimm Fairy Tales Presents Unleashed #0! So lets get started already.

We’re pretty big fans here of Michael Avon Oeming’s artwork, particularly Eric. So for this week’s Tuesday Preview, we bring you the fist issue of the new Volume IV of Mice Templar: Legend.
Long ago, the valiant Templar destroyed themselves through a vicious civil war, allowing the bloodthirsty crusade of the tyrant king Icarus to destroy mouse culture. Yet the inspiring tale of the young mouse Karic promises to restore the fractured Templar and overthrow the mad king. But while some accept Karic as a prophecy for good, still others see his rising legend as an omen of evil.
Thus begins the climactic chapter in the epic saga of hope and despair, of tragedy and triumph, and where every secret will at last be revealed.
